Law Firm YouTube Marketing Case Study: From an Abandoned Channel to 1.4 Million Views
1.4 Million YouTube Views | 6,600 Subscribers | $2M in Revenue Gained
Some firms would rather we didn’t put their name and their market on our website, and we think that’s a reasonable thing to want. The numbers below are unchanged.
Most law firm video fails the same way. A firm pays for production, the videos go up on a channel, and the channel sits there disconnected from everything else the firm is doing. This firm had already been through that once, with a previous agency and 266 subscribers to show for it.
IMS did not start by making more videos. It started by connecting the ones that already existed to the firm’s blog, its email program, and its search strategy — then added new optimized video on top of a system that could actually carry it.
The channel now exceeds 6,600 subscribers and 1.4 million views. Over the same engagement, the firm’s broader marketing system produced $2 million in revenue gained, 45% growth in 2024, and the #1 ranking for the most competitive estate planning keywords in its market.
The Results
From 266 Subscribers to 1.4 Million Views
The firm had invested heavily in video with a previous agency. The channel was not optimized, the videos were not connected to anything else the firm was doing, and it had 266 subscribers.
IMS added 12 new optimized videos and, more importantly, wired the existing library into the firm’s blogging and email programs so the videos worked as content rather than sitting idle. The channel now exceeds 6,600 subscribers and 1.4 million views, and has generated more than $2,300 in direct YouTube revenue on its own.

$2 Million in Revenue Gained
Video was one component of a larger rebuild. Across the engagement, the firm gained $2 million in revenue — including 45% growth over the prior year, a direct result of increased lead flow and the visibility the full system produced.
#1 Rankings for the Most Competitive Keywords in the Market
The firm competes in a major metropolitan market where estate planning search is crowded and expensive. It now holds the top ranking for its most competitive keyword targets, capturing 710 high-intent searches every month. Organic search became the single largest driver of sessions to the website, and overall website users and sessions rose 20%.
Website users and sessions increased 20%, with organic search as the leading traffic source.
More Than 500% Growth in Google Business Profile Visibility
Local search is where estate planning clients start. Google Business Profile impressions and website clicks increased by more than 500%, and home page clicks rose 46% — a signal that the firm was not just being seen more often, but being chosen more often.
$24.82 Cost Per Lead
The firm arrived with a high cost per conversion on Google Ads and no explanation for it. Restructured and reported against a cost-per-lead target, paid search now delivers leads at $24.82, in one of the more competitive estate planning markets in the country.

The Challenge: A Video Library Nobody Was Using
The firm came to IMS already working with a full-service marketing agency. The problem was not effort or budget — it was that nobody could connect the spending to results. Campaign performance went unexplained, lead flow was unpredictable, and no one owned the outcome.
The video program was the clearest example. The firm had paid for a library of professionally produced video, and it was doing nothing. The channel was unoptimized, the videos appeared nowhere else the firm published, and no one had asked what the library was supposed to accomplish.
The initial assessment found the rest of the specifics: cost per conversion on Google pay-per-click was high, and the website’s SEO was performing well below what its authority should have supported. The firm did not need more marketing. It needed a partner who would take ownership of the numbers.
The Estate Planning Marketing Strategy
IMS rebuilt the firm’s marketing as one connected system, using video, content, search, local visibility, and paid advertising to reinforce one another.
Video Marketing and YouTube Optimization
IMS rebuilt the channel’s structure and produced 12 new optimized videos, then integrated the full library — new and existing — into the firm’s blog and email programs. That integration is what changed the outcome. The same videos that had sat idle for a year began earning views, subscribers, and search visibility once they had somewhere to live and something to feed. See what goes into the program on our video production page.
Content Marketing
Consistent, search-optimized content expanded the firm’s footprint across the questions prospective clients research before they call. That content did double duty: it deepened the site’s topical authority and it gave the video library somewhere to live.
Search Strategy and SEO
IMS rebuilt the firm’s organic search program around the keyword targets that produce estate planning consultations in its market, then worked the on-site and off-site fundamentals until the site’s rankings matched its authority. Organic search became the firm’s largest traffic source.
Google Business Profile and Local Search
IMS optimized the firm’s Google Business Profile as a distinct channel rather than an afterthought. Impressions and clicks grew more than 500%, putting the firm in front of local searchers at the moment they were looking for an estate planning attorney.
Paid Search Accountability
IMS restructured the firm’s Google Ads program around cost per conversion and reported against it. The point was not simply lower spend — it was making paid performance visible and answerable, which is what had been missing.
When the Monthly Call Stops Being a Problem
Established firms rarely need to be rescued. They need someone to take what is already working — including the assets they have already paid for — and make it produce. In an interview recorded during the engagement, the firm’s founder described the difference this way:
“That type of check-in used to be a frustrating experience, because we just weren’t seeing what we needed to see. Now the monthly call is a highlight of my week.”
What This Case Study Demonstrates
Video is the marketing investment law firms most often make and least often use. The production is the easy part. What determines whether a library returns anything is whether it is connected to the places clients already find the firm — the blog, the email list, the search results, the profile.
This firm had already bought the video. What it did not have was a system where the pieces reinforced each other, and someone accountable for what all of it produced. That is usually the difference between a firm that is marketing and a firm that is growing. It is the same pattern we documented across the industry in The Estate Planning Reset™, and you can see how it plays out at a brand-new practice in our new firm launch case study or across our other client case studies.
The results described in this case study were achieved by a client firm during its engagement with Integrity Marketing Solutions.
