With Guest Attorney John McNair
How does a solo attorney build a successful elder law practice? This week on The Marketing Lawcast podcast, I visit with attorney (and IMS client) John McNair of Dallas.
This episode turns out to be a complete guide to elder law marketing!
First, a little background on John: he is a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA), a past president of the Texas Chapter of NAELA, and holds a Texas board certification in estate planning and elder law. We’ve been working with John since January 2021. In that time, we’ve watched John’s practice absolutely sky rocket. But things weren’t always so rosy!
For John, setting up a solo practice wasn’t a walk in the park. From finding the right location and tech setup to growing his client list without the support of a legal assistant, the challenges were many. Yet, John isn’t just about traditional practice; he’s a forward-thinker. He emphasized the critical role online marketing plays today, especially for solo practitioners. Teaming up with Susan Rogers, a gerontology grad from North Texas University, John’s law firm is leveraging the best in digital marketing to cement its presence.
He’s also made strides with us here at IMS, tapping into innovative online strategies to drive leads and ensure sustained growth. And with the baby boomer generation moving into retirement, John sees a bright future for elder law. However, he’s quick to note that while online marketing is crucial, networking, community outreach, and maintaining referral relationships can’t be sidelined.
In sum, John McNair’s journey offers invaluable insights for any lawyer considering a shift to solo practice or pondering a specialization in elder law. Dive into the podcast episode to hear it straight from the expert!
