Two Things Every Attorney Wants From Their Practice

Almost every attorney I talk to these days wants two things from their practice: more money, and more time for life outside the practice.

These are common pain points for estate planning and elder law attorneys. 

Most love their work and most love their clients.

What they don’t love is how hard they have to work to get new clients.

And what they REALLY don’t love is worrying about money … and how to get enough new clients to stop worrying about money.

I get it.

I’ve been in business for nearly 30 years now, working exclusively with estate planning and elder law attorneys. And believe me, I know what it’s like to work hard to get that next new client … and to worry about money … 

Back in 2019 … just months before the pandemic broke out … I was working hard to expand our business. It was a year filled with travel … from one conference to another … across the country … speaking from the podium, working a booth, meeting with lawyers face-to-face.

You might be thinking that the pandemic ended all of that.

And you would be partially right. 

But it wasn’t the pandemic … it was ME.

I got sick. 

It wasn’t COVID … it was just exhaustion and over-work. It was a life pattern that my body simply would no longer sustain. 

Getting sick was probably the best thing that could have happened to me.

It was a wake-up call. 

I had to stop. My life was literally slipping away from me … and for what? 

Was I really willing to give up years of living and vitality just to talk to one more lawyer?

That’s a hard NO.

I was still committed to my purpose. Still committed to my goal of helping lawyers achieve their potential, serve families in need, and enjoy life … but I HAD to find a different way to do it.

I changed my diet and started running again.

I lost 70 lbs, set a personal record in the half-marathon at Yosemite National Park last spring and am training to run the Honolulu Marathon in December!
